North Dakota

This is one of my favorite photos of North Dakota. I am not exactly sure where this photo was taken, but I think it is from the corner where the road turns north toward the farm. Wheat and sky and not much else.

This is a beautiful picture of ND! It looks like it was a good year. Marilyn and I often tell the story of when Dad walked us out into the wheat field and told us how many dolls and buggies it would buy. Later that afternoon, a hail storm came through and beat the wheat down to the ground. We could barely look over the wheat earlier in the day and after the storm it was just stubble. I think we still got our dolls and buggies!

That is a wonderful picture Andrew! Thank you so much for posting it. I do not think in all my travels I have seen more beautiful sunsets than in Dakota...they are the things dreams are made of! Someday I need to get back and get photos!

Janie, we will have to scan the picture of a sunrise that I took the morning after dad's funeral. We were outside taking pictures in our pj's! It was cold but we were getting goosebumps from the beauty of the sunrise! The colors were fantastic and kept changing as the sun moved higher in the sky.

Hi Andrew --
What a beautiful picture. In my teenage years, I spent enough time in North Dakota to miss the beauty of the a crop blowing in the wind and the endless mysteries of the prairie skies. You captured a magic moment here.

Oh beautiful for spacious skies,
for amber waves of grain.

That's right, Andrew. I was walking towards the house one day and snapped this picture towards the mailbox. That telephone pole must be in every landscape picture we have! There really is nothing like a beautiful harvest day, is there?
