This is Marilyn's graduation picture from1960. I was a freshman the year that she was a senior. I was just enough younger that I could irritate her without trying. She didn't appreciate that I would take her calls and pretend that I was her. Marilyn also hated that I had to tag along to Williston whenever she drove in with her friends. Can you imagine that? The picture of me is my college graduation picture taken in l967. I had my hair done the day before and slept with my head wrapped in toilet paper to prevent it from getting mussed! It wasn't so many years before that that we slept with a nylon hose on our heads. It was supposed to finger wave your hair. It never seemed to work for me. My hair is still as straight as a bone and only Lynn can beat me in this category. Marilyn, of course, has more curls than any of us! Thanks, Andrew, for scanning the pictures. I have more old time pictures that I will post tomorrow.

I didn't mean to say that our pictures were "old time" pictures! Just wanted to make that clear in case it was misunderstood!
These are the faces I remember and it seems like only yesterday!! Gayle...you have 3 heads of hair. Never seen anyone with so much and I seem to recall you washing it with Lava soap!!! Was that something I dreamt up or what!!?? You have beautiful hair even if it is straight...it lays right where it is suppose to. Mine has a life of it's own! HA!
Gayle can remember more of the little things, but I probably did get irritated with her. She did seem to be underfoot a lot. I don't remember her washing her hair with Lava soap, but I wouldn't have put if past her. HA. Gayle was a free spirit and combed all the sloughs and hills around the farm. She was a country girl before western singers caught the craze.
I'm not that much of a "country girl" that I washed my hair in Lava soap! It was Zest!!! I think it was Clark, David and Janie that went along on a hike that took us to the slough by Eide's farm. We were gone longer than we thought and mom came out looking for us. All we had with us were a couple of oranges. It was lucky for us that a storm didn't pop up since no one knew where we were!
