How old do you think she is in this picture? I have never seen this picture so it is great to see! I was told that she was a tall woman...is that true?
Grandpa Hagen died on January 15, l942 (I think). Grandma would have been sixty. I remember mom saying that she took Grandpa's death very hard. I think she had this picture taken because she didn't think she would live long after Grandpa's death. I believe Grandma had breast cancer and went to Fargo to have a mastectomy when she was sixty- five. I should really check with mom before I write this but it is too early to call. Mom said that Grandma went by herself to Fargo for surgery. I wonder what thoughts she had has she was traveling alone for eight hours. Grandma was a very strong, outspoken women and full of the pioneer spirit!
Hopefully this will become a family news letter so we all can stay in better touch!
