Hi everyone,

This is Andrea writing from Baltimore. I haven't been outside yet, but the t.v. news said that winter hit here today. That means it's 40 degrees instead of the 75 that it was yesterday. It seems like the west end of the country is getting all the snow.
Otfried is in Argentina (no reason, mostly just to earn airline miles) and I'm at home awaiting a visit from Carol Madlebaum, who is the daughter of Elaine and Fred Preston. Elaine, now deceased, was the daughter of Helmer and Nora Krabseth, whom many of you know from North Dakota. In other words, she is a Krabseth cousin. She and her husband Dean with be here over the weekend. He's going to a business conference. She and I will go to Annapolis, and the Baltimore Inner Harbor and acquarium and find some nice places to eat Baltimore cuisine, of which crab cakes is the very best!
Hope you'll all having a happy new year. Please come visit us and I'll introduce you to Maryland crab cakes.
Andrea and Otfried

We got the ice yesterday and are having a beautiful day today. The kids don't have school. Remember the good old days when school was never cancelled. When we had a bad storm we would hope that the roads would be blocked and we couldn't travel. Dad would always reassure us that he could make it to town. No matter how bad the weather, dad was game to venture out. It seemed as though it was a challenge and one that he never turned down. I was sledding down the ramp on the kids swing set. It is icy with a dusting of snow. It was fun but a hard landing.

Andrea - I'm sorry the picture thing still doesn't seem to be working. Keep trying!
I was wondering if you might want to post some pictures of you folks along with some of the narrative from your tribute to them. I'm sure all the relatives haven't seen it. It would make a nice post!
