Laurence and Roy Hagen

This is one of my all-time favorite pictures. Jane was kind enough to email me a scanned image. Anyone have an idea of what year this might have been taken in? And what happened to the Ercoupe? Dad said they once had an old bi-plane, and it was so slow that one windy day, Laurence, flying against the wind, slowly flew backwards over Crosby (you have to appreciate that the didn't have TV back then, so it was harder to find fun things to do).

Now I never heard that story...but this photo was in Bill Shemorry's paper and I am trying to find it as it talks about Laurence and Roy reading the manual to put this together or something and how to fly it...they might be talking over how to land it as well! HA! I hope I can find that as it was very interesting.

Janie, Bernice has a similar picture hanging in the entrance to her house of Laurence and the Ercoupe. They are great photo's. I downloaded the file from the blog and it is only 10k and will not print with much detail.

Gayle and I would appreciate it if you would e-mail the scanned full size file to her. Thanks and again, a great picture of your dad and Laurence.

You probably don't recall, but in the spring of 1964 your dad drove the school bus that took the class of 1964 on skip day to Rapid City, South Dakota. We had 19 graduates in our class and all had a great time visiting the bad lands.
