Shirley showed me one of her little 'treasures', a key chain from Ralph's Bar that she got from her dad (or so she says). Andrew posted a picture of Ralph's bar back a few months ago (copied below). Would it be possible for me to get a higher resolution scan of that picture? Then I can frame it with the key chain for an unusual piece of memorabilia. I wonder what other pictures are out there of the 'olden days' along with assorted memorabilia that eventually get thrown out as garbage? Marilyn - some years ago you showed me an old sign you had saved from the Driftwood: if you still have it, would you mind taking a picture of it and posting it? It's another example of things that have sentimental value but little else. They were created and painted by Cliff Gronfur - a man of great talent.
PS: if you look at the mirror behind the bar, you can see "Ralph's Place' on the glass. It is standing open so you are seeing the front of it (so it appears backwards in the mirror).

That is one of the photos I scanned and saved at high resolution. I scanned it in 1999.
Thanks, Andrew.
You can get an idea of how high the resolution of a scan is by how big it becomes when you click on it. For example, the key chain was scanned at 300 dpi as was the postcard above it. I'm guessing that in 1999, 150 to 200 dpi was considered pretty high resolution (which it was).
Andrew - what are you doing these days and where do you live? It seems like over the years I've lost contact with your dad, et al. Your side of the family does a better job of keeping in contact than mine.
I just remembered that I have the Grain Belt neon sign over the bar in the photo. It still works.
I never could figure what my grandfather was doing with that bottle swinging on that stand in the back.
